3 Strategies for Refreshing Your Home If your home feels a little boring or tired,…
Maintaining airflow is essential to keep a cool breeze underneath your patio cover area. Stagnant air builds up heat and creates an uncomfortable space to relax in. Our options to reduce heat are practically endless, while at the same time allowing filtered light into the interior of your home. We offer four choices of lattice tubes, and with these four choices, we can accomplish a customized fit to your home’s personal needs.
The first option, although a bit outdated, is our 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ lattice tube with 1 1/2″ spacing. This option allows for 50% coverage. The 1 1/2″ lattice tube option seems a little small on top of your cover.
The second option is our 2″ x 2″ lattice tube with 2″ spacing; this option is our most popular appearing more up to date and having a more substantial appearance. This option also provides 50% coverage.
The third option is a 2″ x 3″ lattice tube with 2″ space between the lattice tubes, and this option provides 60% coverage when the sun is directly above. Also, be careful with the 2″ x 3″ lattice tube with 2″ spacing. In some cases, this option can provide the perfect coverage for extreme exposure to the sun, or it can darken the interior of your home more than you need.
The last and fourth option is our 3″ x 3″ lattice tube with 3″ spacing, This option adds bulk to the overall appearance to your cover and can cost considerably more.
Remember, the sun travels across the sky differently year around, whereas, in the winter, the sun is in a different position than the summer. If you are unsure, we will be happy to do advise you of your customized options. All of these lattice tube options provide different light throughout the day, and your percentages of sun exposure can change up to 100% coverage. Planning your percentagesof filtered light is essential when designing your outdoor patio cover areas to address these different percentages that occur throughout the day. All lattice tubes include a beveled end cap, not a flat cap, which gives a more detailed look at the end of the lattice tubes. Lattice tubes sizes are true to size, unlike wood patio cover materials that are a reduced size when quoted. True to sizes mean actual measurements.
